Happy Friday, Reader. Claire and I write to you from Spain this week, where we have finished the first draft of Uncontained.
We developed a daily routine, which saw us to the end of the week and the manuscript. Plus, the customary tossing of the old versions in the bin…
Needless to say, we're very tired. So I'll leave you with two great links to explore, both of which have inspired the book in some way:
- “we can actually foster psychological safety through reducing eye contact, whether that’s side by side walking together, going for a drive, or using a confessional booth (would be unorthodox – let me know if you try it). Or maybe it’s triangulation, talking whilst focusing on another thing, whether it’s studying a whiteboard or roasting potatoes in a campfire. Some things are easier said to a potato than a face.” — From Psychological Safety Blog.
- Things you’re allowed to do that you thought you weren’t, or didn’t even know you could. By Milan Cvitkovic.
The second link inspired an entire section in Uncontained all about what you are allowed to do in your coaching and personal development conversations (but maybe weren't sure you could!)
As of this afternoon, the draft is now in the hands of our lovely beta readers. If you'd like to be one of them, hit reply and let us know.
That's all for this week,
Kim, Claire, and Nathan
